Dad in his robes
For the past 3 years Dave has been doing a MA in Education, and on Saturday 7th June 2003, all of the Chiswick Elmers attended Dave's graduation. We all dressed smartly, and went to the Royal Festival Hall for the presentation. When we arrived Dave regestered, and changed into his robes. Then we had a family picture taken, (and the one of Dave above).
At 3:00 the presentation started. First they
had the Doctors, then the Masters, and then the Bachelors. For the Doctors they said what
their thesis was. One person got his for a thesis called "An analysis of secondary
teachers' percieved stress linked to the mangement styles of their Heads of
Department" which made everyone laugh! The awards where presented by Betty Boothroyd.
We do have a picture of Dave getting his degree, but it didn't scan very well, so i
haven't included it.
In the evening we had lots of friends roung for a celebration supper. We brought food from
borough market, and lots of other great food places. We had the starters on the table as a
buffet, and everyone ate so much that not many people managed the main course of pasta and
a range of sauces, so we lived on pasta for a week after!
